Dear Spring,
I am a fifty-three year old woman, in the middle of menopause, and sick and tired of people thinking I’m just lazy or a glutton. I eat less than all the skinny people around me, and I work out so hard that the bra strap on my sports bra actually snapped yesterday. I have tried diet after diet, and not one of them has helped me lose more than a few pounds. Is keto just another fad? Because I can’t take it anymore.
Sincerely,
Frustrated Fran from Kentucky
Dear Fran,
Boy, do I feel your pain. I am premenopausal myself, and I can tell you, the ‘over forties’ game is no joke! Girl, the hot flashes are relentless—especially during the night.
Just like you, I tried various methods of getting healthy and losing weight, to no avail. Before I found keto, I was actually praying for Jesus to just come and get me. Please take heart, this is not another fad diet. In fact, it’s not a diet at all; it’s a lifestyle. It MUST be a lifestyle, because it does not work as simply a diet. If you use it as a diet and then go back to eating the same way you did before, all the same ailments you had before will just come flooding back.
